Welcome!

I took this trip because of my Dad. He was an adventurous guy who drove his red '53 Mercury from California to Fish Creek, WI with his best friend two years ago and documented it with a photography blog. So I wanted him to be there with me, in a way. I brought his hat, his camera, and his spirit along with me.

Yosemite Valley

Destination #1. Dad's hat is in perfect condition and looks great against the views in Yosemite.

On the Road

Driving over the Sierras and into the Nevada desert was gorgeous, especially when you're the only car for miles.

The Grand Canyon

I got to see the Grand Canyon both at sunset and sunrise. It's a great place to sit and think.

Land and Sky

It's amazing how many clouds you can see in all directions driving through New Mexico.

8th Wonder Brewery in Houston, TX

Jackson

My unwaivering travel companion, Jackson.

N.O.L.A.

Dad would have loved sitting at this little square with live jazz with Lindsay and me.

Churchill Downs

Wildflowers in Wisconsin

Corn

Rows and rows of corn is what you see driving trough Iowa and Nebraska. Rows and rows and rows and rows.....

Colorado

It's hard to beat the landscape in Colorado, especially driving along the Colorado River.

Making a Friend in Utah

No surprise that this is one of my favorites. We pulled over and he came trotting over from the other side of the pasture. Dad would be petrified to learn that he slobbered on the brim!

Train Tracks

Lonely train tracks running along the Loneliest Highway.

Horse With No Name

We were driving up to the caves in Great Basin National Park when we came upon this little gem.

The Loneliest Highway

On his trip, my Dad took a photo of David lying in the middle of the road like this titled "David Dies on the Road". So, Hailey helped me do something similar. In my opinion, his photo was cooler.

The Bar at Middle of Nowhere, Nevada

The last spot I decided to get a photo was in Middlegate, Nevada, pop. 17. It was one of the stops he made on his trip across the country with David, where he chummed it up with the bartender while David took a nap on the grass outside. As luck would have it, I left my purse hanging on the chair while I went to go take this photo, and realized I never went back for it about an hour and a half down the road. If you've gotten to this point, thank you for looking through the whole site and hope you enjoyed it!
